Future Linebacker

Mommy calls this my MUG SHOT. She says it could go on America's Most Wanted list. Wanted for being too darn cute I say! let's just say that Mommy really caught the moment...I was working on "cleaning out the internal pipes" and she thought it would be funny to take a photo of this very serious moment. I look like a future Steelers linebacker, a BRICK HOUSE!

Hands-On Learning

I last posted that I found the fan to be quite exciting, but I now have to say, there's something even more exciting, my hands! They taste better than the fan. I can't seem to fit the fan into my mouth, but my hands, well they fit quite nicely into my mouth. And I can make loud sucking noises when I put my hands in my mouth, how cool is that? Way cool! Yes, the darn Winnie the Pooh hat again. Humm....

FANatic

I have recently discovered the joys of watching a ceiling fan. I like to flap my arms and legs and be quick like the fan. I'm amazed that something so simple can be so very exciting. Sing to the tune "THe Wheels on the Bus": The blades on the fan go round and round, round and round, round and round, the blades on the fan go round and round, all through the day!

The Frostbite 5k

Today I returned to the place where it all began just 13 weeks ago, the Park Ridge Hospital. It was yet another very cold Sunday afternoon and once again I was not in a hurry, but I did finally make it to the finish line as you can see in the photo. But don't worry, it was not a 36 hour "race" this time, just about 35 minutes or so. Mommy says "if only labor could be that way." It was fun to spend the day with our friends Geraldine and Gus. They were very motivating and we look forward to more afternoon races with them in the future.

Grrrrrr

This is my first bear outfit. Mommy and Daddy bundle me up to take me in the forest for hikes. We don't hibernate like bears. We try to get out as much as possible. Fresh air is good for the lungs.

Baby Bear #2

I told you there were more bear photos. This is number 2. I received this outfit from mommy's college friend Jen Sullivan. It's cozy!

Winne the Pooh

Mommy likes to dress me up like a bear. She says I'm her little cub. This is just one example. Believe it or not, there are more. Keep posted.

Post Game Activity

This is me and daddy after the game. I think daddy enjoyed his beer, I drank milk.

Super Bowl Sunday

Yipee! The Pittsburgh Steelers won their 6th National Championship on Sunday, February 2, making them the greatest of all time, and I was there to witness the event. Mommy and I wore gold in honor of our team. It was almost as fun to watch as the Inauguration of our new pressie, Barack Obama. It's been a good 2009 so far!

SOS

Hey Mommy! Put down that #@&! camera and catch me, I'm falling! I mean, I can't do anything without you sticking that thing in my face. I'm going to go blind by all the flashing, unless of course I fall off the couch first and have a whole new ball of problems. I know I'm cute and all, but can't a guy catch a break?

Birth Day

Since Mummy is a bit behind, I thought I'd help her catch-up. I've added a photo from my birthday, November 30, 2008. I came out at 4:29pm, just 15 minutes after the Steelers vs. Patriots game kick-off. I was just in time to catch the 2nd half. I weighed 6 lbs. and 14 oz. I was pretty scared by all the bright lights and people at first, but my daddy said my name, "Rion" and I turned to him, grabbed his finger and knew everything was going to be OK.

I was right. Everyone has been really friendly. Daddy even let me sleep on his chest for about two weeks straight. Mommy feeds me, lots. It's yummy. I think I'm pretty lucky so far.

Two Months Old

Wow, it's cold. Good thing I have put on my winter weight to keep me warm. I had my two month check-up with Dr. Myers on January 30th and the scale tipped 11 lbs (I weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz. @ one month). Mommy and Daddy always try to guess my weight, a wee bet, and neither of them got close this time! Another surprise to Mum and Dad was my length. The nurse measured 22 inches. Well, it seems I shrunk. I measured 24.5 inches at one month. Oops, someone made a mistake. The doctor commented on my "beautiful skin" and said I had the neck strength of a 3 or 4 month old. Well, I need some control, there is so much to see and do. A sad moment at the doctor's was getting a shot. I was hoping to be more of a man about it, but I cried like a baby. Hey, I challenge each of you to take a needle the size as your forearm into your thigh. It's no joke! At least it's behind me now. We've all been bundling up, as you can see in the photo. Wish we could jump on over to some summertime in New Zealand. Much Love- Rion
