Pre/Post Egg Hunt Activities

Me and Atlas on the rocks.

Me and Bradyn in the trees.

The Egg Hunt was fun and all, but what I really enjoyed was climbing trees and hopping rocks along the river with my friends!

An Early Egg Hunt

Last week mom and I put our saved-up and empty egg cartons to artistic use. We painted them and added handles creating egg baskets. Since we had so many, we invited some friends to meet us for an egg hunt that we hosted at Sycamore Flats, a forest picnic area. I helped mom put stickers, pennies and even a few candies into 66 plastic eggs. I also helped dye 6 real eggs and then I helped her hide them. I welcomed the egg hunters and helped them pick out a basket and set them off on the hunt.
Benjamin finds the eggs that I hid in this tree.

Bradyn and Odin count their eggs.

Argo fills his basket.

The baskets me and mom painted. Pretty fancy don't you think?

The Irish Jig

Bradyn and I dancing the jig on St. Paddy's Day.

Messy Room

I just learned one of mommy's newest pet peeves: the dumping of toys from their tidy containers for the pure joy of dumping the toys. One evening as she was cleaning up the dinner dishes, she came into my room and found this mess...she wasn't happy. She sent me upstairs for a bath and upon completion of the bath instructed me to pick-up my toys and return them to their rightful container. She had the containers laid out nicely for me, all I had to do was to PICK THEM UP.

I said, "I can't." She insisted that I could and I finally just told her, "I don't want too." Mommy refused to come into my room for a bedtime story. She just sat on the couch, on the computer, not helping me one bit. So, I went into the room and lined-up my trucks and trains in a line, but didn't clean the mess. I finally just gave up with the whole thing because I was so tired and quietly found a spot on the bed and laid down and went to sleep, with lights on and everything.

Who won this showdown? The jury is still out.

Dinosaur Puzzle

This 24 piece dinosaur puzzle is one of my new favorite toys/activities. I love to fit all the pieces together and learn the names of the dinosaurs, which aren't too easy to pronounce!

Spring Has Sprung, Officially!

March 21st marked the Spring Equinox and made the season official (although it seemed to arrive early this year). Mom and I moved the sandbox up to the front yard, cleaned it out and put in new sand. I, of course, took off my pants and sat down to play. Love that sand, anywhere and everywhere!

Dad and I built this "bear house" a few weeks ago and it standing strong.

Grouch Leprechaun...someone stole his gold I guess.

The traditional "Official Party Mug" used every March 17th. Dates back to Savannah, GA, circa 1995.

Happy St. Patricks Day

The shops in downtown Brevard kept their doors open late for the St. Patrick's Day holiday. Here I am enjoying a St. Pat's Day spread at tge Eccletic Cottage.
Not sure what I think of this Green Beer (just kidding)!

Sharing green bubbles with my pal Bradyn.

Counting to 10 while the shop owner at Little Bo-Tique hides gold coins.

True Mountain Kiddos

Five Mountain Mommas hiked 12 children 5 and under up to the top of Pilot Mt., pretty epic if I do say so myself! (baby Vesta didn't make the photo, but she was there in full force)
Me and Odin having a cup of gingerale for the first time. Yummy stuff!

At the Top

What a view, don't ya think Elijah? Yep, Rion, gorgeous!

Me and my buddy Atlas taking in the 360 deg. views from the top of Pilot Mt.

Ms. Geraldine pops open some bubbly in honor of Ms. Perry's birthday. Yes, she hiked with that bottle and 6 glasses, and gingerale for us little guys!

Not sure how I feel about Ezra taking hold of my hand....hummmmat least Argo is near-by to chaperone.

Mommy and the birthday girl.

Miss Perry's Birthday Hike

Who will be the first to the top?

Taking a break from the steep trek up Pilot Mt.

Pee break.

For Miss Perry's 25th birthday we gathered at the Sycamore Flats picnic area for cupcakes and to sing the happy birthday song. Then we gathered up, consolidated vehicles and headed deep into the forest and up a very treacherous road to the trailhead for Pilot Mt. (one of the highest points in the Pisgah National Forest).

Everybody gather up! Who's headed-up to Pilot Mt, raise your hand.

Playing Batman

I'm really starting to get the hang of my Batmobile motorcycle. It takes practice, but each time we go out, I get faster and faster. Here I am hiding in the inner region of the Batcave. The evil Joker, AKA mommy, is trying to penetrate the outer force field to find my hide-out, but she is no match for me!

Couch Potatoe

A few months ago, I decided I would not be taking any more naps. Mom initiated "quiet time", but it's kind of hit or miss. I don't miss naps, although mommy does, but sometimes the cumulative effects of extremely active days catch-up on me and I simply crash wherever I happen to be at the time. This is a Sunday afternoon, after reading a few books with mom.

Supper Time Silliness

Cheese Tortellini's in a marinara sauce is one of my favorite meals, as you can see from my face and my empty bowl. Mommy was lovin' my "big, brown eyes."

Country Boy

You might think the thing in my hand is a big stick, but it's not, it's a gun! Here I am posing as a "hunter." My mommy is ready to move me to New York City as she thinks I'm being a bit too exposed to the mountain lifestyle!

BANG! BANG!

Annual February Hike in Dupont Forest

For the past several years, Aunt Brandi and MiMi have come up to Brevard for a winter hike and dinner out. We were once again blessed with blue skies and mild temperatures, although it was a bit windy. Our cousin-in-law Linsdey joined us this year. We had a lovely waterfall walk in Dupont Forest. Thanks for dinner Aunt Brandi!

These bright, sunny winter days call for cool shades.
