Too Much Easter

The End....next-up, SPRING BREAK!

A Collection of Spring Flower Photos

The Easter Lily was my favorite.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Egg Hunt was held at Gabby and Uncle Jack's house, as was the Easter feast. I searched high and low, but I could never seem to find as many eggs as Arawen.

The blue egg was my favorite.

Mimi and Chanley taking a break from hunting.

Lazy on the Dock

Easter is full of treats I learned this year. Another one of my favorites is popsicles. Arawen and I enjoyed this frozen treat before starting our fishing activity.

Darn! All gone. 'Nother one momma????

Fishing in the buff:)

Easter Church

Wearing our Sunday's finest, which didn't last too long given the gorgeous sunny, day. The dock was calling our names.

Easter Baskets

Easter morning was full of excitement. Arawen and I both hopped out our beds and headed downstairs to find our hidden Easter baskets. Arawen found hers first then she found mine second. As you can see in the following photos the chocolate bunny was my favorite Easter basket prize.

Of course, I really, really like jelly beans too.

Thanks Easter Bunny, AKA "Mimi. Also, a special shout-out to Grandma and Grandpa Coadwell who sent me a lovely Easter card that I carried around for two days, and a new Harry McClary book. I'm beginning a collection!

Caterpillars and Bird Baths

Worms and caterpillars are my new favorite "toys." If you look close you will see one of the creepy crawly creatures in my hand.
Get your own bug Jax. Paws off mine!

Caterpillar sunning himself on a rock, like it or not.

MiMi's new bird bath was a fun toy for me and a minature pool for the caterpillars.

Jax thought the bird bath was his own personal water bowl.

A Natural

I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed dying eggs for Easter. I liked to move the eggs from one cup to another and back and forth, which made for some lovely colors! My hands turned a nice shade of dark green as well.

This one cracked so I decided to go ahead and take off the shell, but then mom wouldn't let me eat it, rude!

Reaching for pink.

Ta-da! Now let's hide them.

Coloring Eggs

As you can see I am super good at my colors. Mum messed up one of the dyes and we ended-up with two blues. She was supposed to leave out the vinegar on the purple and pink, oh well, that is what happens when you don't follow directions. Mimi had some back-ups. Don't you love how I say "yellow", it's more like "lello." Too cute! Can you believe this was my first go at dying eggs? Mum didn't bust it out last year.

A Great Man

Jose F. Garcia was my Pop-Pop. A loving, boisterous, intelluctual, nurturing man who made every moment with him fun. His life ended on April the 6th. Mommy and Daddy tell me "Pop-Pop is gone" and I understand this is sad and I understand I will no longer see him, and I miss him dearly. MiMi is sad and mommy too, but I give them big hugs and I make them feel better. Daddy is sad too, as are so, so many other people whose lives were touched by this generous and caring man, my Pop-Pop. Mom and I have been avoiding the blog because we knew we needed to dedicate a post to Pop-Pop and it just seemed way too difficult to do so. But life has gone on for us left behind and I myself have stayed extremely busy enjoying the spring weather and felt that it was time to move on and share some joy.
The last time I saw Pop-Pop was March 24th. He took me to my first circus. I got to see elephants and take a pony ride. I had a blast! Mimi has those pictures, so I had to go back in my collection and pick one for this post. This photo is one of my favorites, in fact, it is kept on the refridgerator so I see it everyday. This is Easter 2009. The next few blog posts will show Easter 2011, which once again was celebrated at the lake in SC. We held tight to memories of Pop-Pop this Easter and held tight to each other for support.
We love you Pop-Pop Jose, R.I.P.

Grandpa with His Grandkids

In the worst of times we find solace in family and the innocence and laughter of children. I
was lucky enough to be surrounded by my Grandpa Layton and cousins on what otherwise was a sad day.

Missed You Grandma Layton

I was happy to spend a small bit of time with my Grandpa Layton recently, but very much missed the presence of Grandma Layton. I love you Grandma and hope to see you soon.
