My pal Odin came over on Wednesday and we had such a fun playdate. I really love having friends come over to the house, makes the day just fly. Odin is my favorite pal from school so this was a very special treat indeed.
Chase me! Run, run, run.
Here horsey, horsey, let us pet you both.

Love to all our Christchurch Family
I don't really have a photo to go with this post, nor a video, just a message from the heart. Please stay safe. We are all saddened by the devastation to my dad's hometown, but we know that the kiwi's are a very resilient folk and will fare well in the end. The lives lost to the earthquake is the greatest tragedy, and we hope love and healing will come to the families that have lost their loved ones. If you feel a great need to get away, there is always a room, even two, for family and friends here at Cedar Haven Dr.
Much Love-
Rion

UnHappy Valentine's Day
Mum and Dad came down with an awful stomach flu on Valentine's Day so instead of sharing a bottle of wine, they shared the bathroom. Luckily I escaped the carnage with Aunt Chanley and Mimi's help, but I did have to miss the Valentine sharing at school that day. My teachers are nice and kept my cards and treats in a special bag and I got to open everything on Thursday. I got some good stuff as you can see in the photo.

And Out Came the Sun
Mom captured this photos of me as the sun shined into the living room around 5:00pm this afternoon.

Frying the Turkey
Mum and Dad earned a free turkey at Ingles the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving and thought the SuperBowl Tailgate party was the perfect time to cook it up and feed a bunch of folks. Our friend Heather owns a special fryer, so she guided us in getting the bird fried! It was delicious!
Daddy took the turkey out of the freezer earlier in the week to make sure it was 100% unfrozen, that's very important. Then he made a special rub that he covered the bird in and even injected right into it, it was super flavorful!

Let THE GAME Begin
Dad kicked off the tailgate party/Waitangi Day holiday with a Bloody Mary. Strange name for a drink don't you think? Sounds pretty unappetizing if you ask me!
Green Bay Packers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Dad has been ingratiated into the Steelers family by Grandpa Layton and the whole Layton legacy. He's taken to them very well, as since mum and dad have been a couple, the Steelers have been in the SuperBowl three times. In fact, I'm just 2, and this is the second time I'm getting to see them in the big game. Dad put on a supberb SuperBowl Tailgate Party for about 15 friends. The next few blog posts will show you how our day went, successful by all accounts, except for the result of the game, our team lost, 31-25.
Superbowl Decorations
The Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers share one common color, gold (or yellow), but Pittsburgh shares that great New Zealand color, black. I wore my All Blacks vest with some yellow splashes in support of the SuperBowl and Waitangi Day. I wore the number 7 to honor Ben Roelishberger and Richie McCaw. Very convenient!
Huff, puff, huff, puff, I feel like the Big Bad Wolf.

The Farmer in the Dell
I know all the words to this song, but mum rushed me to the end, something about video length. What do you think Grandpa, more your style?
