Spiral Staircase

Mommy and Daddy rarely allow me anywhere near the spiral staircase, but mommy made an exception one rainy day for a bit of fun. Cool!

It's Raining It's Pouring

We've always had a pretty good view from our back deck; a lovely river and an open field. But after 48 hours of non-stop rain, we had a lake view! The rain was nice but not great for gelato sales. We are hoping for an Indian summer sometime soon.

Toys & Videos

Man, I can't tell you how excited I get when exposed to new toys and new experiences. Baelynn had the coolest stuff on the planet. I was mesmorized by the Baby Einstein DVD we got to watch together. I had the best seat in the house. The only thing missing was the popcorn!

Chandley Catherine Dixon

Welcome to the world Chandley. It is so wonderful to have a new cousin and one that is younger than me. She was born Sept. 3rd to Lesa and Adam. Sisters Bryce and Baelynn are excited to welcome her to her new home and the extended family are happy as well. Me and Mommy went down to visit Saturday. I liked the new baby, but I must admit I liked Baelynn's toys more. Mommy says she can't beleive I was ever that little.

Mountain Song Festival

3rd time is a charm. Kiwi Gelato set up shop at the Music Center for this year's Mt. Song Festival and did even better than last year. It helped that it was a beautiful day and the show was sold out, meaning 2500 tickets sold. Steve Martin, yes, THE Steve Martin was on the docket playing his banjo alongside Brevard's own Steep Canyon Rangers. He is one "wild and crazy guy." Due to my nap and nightime schedule and Daddy having to cover the shop in town, Kiwi Gelato had to hire some help. Lindsay did the early shift, then Marilyn and Geraldine came out for the late afternoon, evening shift. I definitely did my share though. People love to buy gelatos from a cute baby.

Happy Anniversary Mum, Dad & Kiwi Gelato

On September the 16th, Mummy and Daddy celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary by feasting on a plethora of sushi, topped off by a sushi bomb each. I had a sleep-over at Grandma and Grandad's. On the 19th Kiwi Gelato celebrates it's 2nd year in business. I'm not allowed to eat the gelato, but I sure do like playing with the sign.

Big Ballons & Balls Make Me Smile

Mimi came for a short visit last week and brought some fun toys for Arawen and I, big balloons. I learned very quickly how to make mine move and bounce around. I also played a game of throw the ball with Mimi and Chanley, thus the big smile in the first photo. You have to imagine the ball part.

Baby vs. Beer Bottle

A wrestling match to the death, well, that's a bit dramatic, but this is an intense competition. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr............

Happy Birthday Grandpa Coadwell

I owe ya a birthday beer! Better late than never. I'll getcha in October. Cheers Grandpa. Oh, and I'm not late, today is the 11th in America.

Shot Glass

A word from the mommy: It seems that shot glasses are the perfect size for tiny hands. Rion loves to drink independently and has not taken to "sippy cups" but he loves his new shot glass. I hope this doesn't follow him into his teenage years of course or college years. His favorite juice is watered down Peach-Mango.

9 Month Check-Up

I drove myself over to the doc's office yesterday for my 9 month check-up. Just kidding, I was out of gas so my mommy and daddy gave me a lift. Turns out I'm still "perfect", doc's words, but I'm getting smaller. Well, comparably speaking. I weighed in at 17 lbs. 6 oz. and am now 27 inches tall. Sounds great, but the percentiles are 5% and 10%, meaning 95% of American 9 month olds weigh more than me and 90% are taller. I wonder how I'd stack up in New Zealand? Mum and Dad have already reconsidered my career in tennis. We've been watching lots of US Open this week and there aren't many short players, at least on the men's side. Mimi says I'm not going to be short, that mum and dad are being premature. I'm not sure what to think. I eat all my veggies, love carbs and meat, and work out like a fool. I feel strong and healthy. Bring on the racquet I say, I'lll leave all those fatty American kids in the dust!

Fun Toys @ Grandma's House

After the hike on Saturday we headed up to Grandma and Grandad's house for dinner and a sleepover. In the morning I got to play with this really cool pinball game. It made lots of noise and made me laugh, lots. Aunt Brandi is a fun toy too.

Getting Wet and Muddy

We met this lady on the trail who warned us about the "ankle deep mud and water." Well, we thought she must be crazy, because we seemed to be staying quite dry, until...I stayed dry on mommy's back but everyone else get soggy feet. It was fun.

Labor Day Weekend

Aunt Brandi, Uncle Chad, Asher and Jax the puppy came up from Charlotte to have a picnic and go for a hike in the forest. Everyone gathered on this super beautiful September day in Brevard for a gelato before heading to the Pink Beds picnic and hiking spot. We hiked a whole 5 and half miles, many of which I slept. Nice.

Kitchen Drawers

I have discovered yet another fun activity. Rummaging through kitchen drawers. I especially like the "tupperware" drawer as it has lots of things I can reach in and grab and throw out onto the floor. Super fun!

Teaching the Word "Hot"

We have this really cool stove in our family room, literally, it's cool. Mommy displays pictures on it and I find it great for practicing my pulling up and standing. Daddy doesn't like it when I play on "The Fisher." He keeps saying the word "hot." I'm not sure what that means. He says I'll learn soon enough and it won't be pretty. Humm....

Evidence

Listen closely, because you may miss it, but it is definitely the word "cat." Proof at last.
